Transform and refurbishment in 3 months. After the initial briefing and budget set, we conducted an assessment of the build works with our contractor, we soon realised the extent of the works, and that we would need to go back to brick in many of the rooms.

Created though the age of the property, the project has been quite unique in a large percentage of the budget was needed to be used on the build works, full re-plaster, levelling of the flooring and building bespoke furniture that allows for the quirks you gain when working with an older property, leaving us to work creatively with the reminder.

The Fine Details

A calming master bedroom, with a bespoke floating bed and feature headboard, full wall of wardrobe designed to enclose ample storage & vanity, creating the sense of space and calm layer with luxury fabrics and ambient lighting.

A home office, designed and built on-site allowing for maximum storage to create an enjoyable working environment.

An enlarged bathroom, relocating the boiler room allowing for a walk In shower and freestanding bath. The enlarged sense of space has aided both the functional space and enjoyment of use bathroom.

The open plan lounge & dining room flows in use from enjoying a relaxing film to music while dining, built in storage for the client’s interest in music & films allowed us to create a flow between the areas and pivot the storage solution around the original fire. The modern use of wall mounting the flooring tile has created a quirky focal point blending the old and the new. Sumpsious fabrics, textures and a calming pallet choice has aided the feel of space, light and wellbeing.

I can’t believe where I was living compared to how it is now! Julie came recommended to me and she did not disappoint. My 1930’s house needed a modern feel without betraying that it is over 80 years old. This was important to me and the conflict cost another designer the job, but Julie listened. She looked at my house for clues as to what would work for my lifestyle. She took this and came up with an impressive design, but the final result put the vision to shame: seeing is truly believing! Julie goes the extra mile, and made me feel as if I were her most important client ever. Having a house refurbished is certainly not a trivial undertaking, but working with Julie made it happen as efficiently and as quickly as possible.
